Our identity with God becomes being born into God’s family (John 3:3) and receiving power to become sons (and daughters) of God (John 1:12). Since God is King, we become royalty (1 Peter 2:9). Since He is victorious (Matt 28:18), we are more than conquerors (1 Cor 15:57, Rom 8:37).
When we accept God; the Father (John 14:23), the Spirit (John 14:17, 15:26) and the Son indwells in us (Col 1:27), the hope of glory. Jesus has glorified and justified us (just as if we never sinned) with His blood (Rom 5:9, 8:30). The natural man cannot understand this, but the ‘supernatural’ man, or a mind that is helped by the Holy Spirit can (1 Cor 2:9-16, John 16:13, Prov. 3:5,6).
Since we are co-laborers (1 Cor 3:9) and are now ‘the body’ of Christ (1 Cor 12:12, 27) with Christ, or the Word being the ‘head’, we carry the same authority that Jesus does (Matt. 18:18, Mark 16:17-20), because as He is, so are we in the world (1 John 4:17) to do greater works (John 14:12). We are partakers in His divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). The spirits of this world are our subjects (Luke 10:19, 20) for greater is He that is in us, then he that is in the world (1 John 4:4).
The Spirit of God convicts the world of Sin (John 16:8), but convicts the believer of righteousness (John 15:26). When we receive this understanding and renew our mind (Rom 12:1, 2, Eph. 4:22, 23), we are able to daily disengage the natural thoughts from our soul (Gal 5:16) that we have become dependent on (2 Cor 10:5, 2 Peter 1:5-10). When you know who you are in Christ, the devil will too (Acts 19:15). It is the truth that will make us free (John 8:32).
When we know who the bible says we are in God, regardless of what any church or people’s opinion (Col. 2:8) we become confident and our prayers become bolder (Heb 4:16, 10:35). This is our true identity, according to the Word.
“I don’t stop giving thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power” Ephesians 1:16-19
“For whoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.” 1 John 5:4
