Our soul has a mind that needs to be renewed to receive every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God (Matt 4:4, Rom 12:1). It takes constant exercise to bring every thought into captivity and we line up our thoughts with the Word (2 Cor 10:5). We have to deny our selfish way of thinking that will:

•        Deny our being a new creature (2 Cor 5:17) [I’m a sinner, I’m an alcoholic]
•        Deny our being righteous and holy (2 Cor 5:20, Heb 10:10) [I’m not righteous or holy]
•        Deny our being supernatural (1 Cor 2:14,16) [I’m only human, I can’t do miracles]
•        Deny receiving God’s nature (2 Pet 1:3,4) [Fire has power over me, It’s my bad heart etc]
•        Deny the sacred permission of asking anything in the name of Jesus (John 16:23) etc.

Our enemy wants to get in our head, but we must never take off the helmet of salvation that continues to restore us (Eph 6:17). We can be born again, yet become blind and lose our vision (Hos 4:6, Prov 29:18, 2 Pet 1:9). Don’t let him tell you that you are naked (Gen 3:11). But we know; that every time we are tempted to deny the Word of God and listen to the adversary, there is always a way to escape (1 Cor 10:13, Rom 8:37). We must keep the Sword and pray without wavering or wandering (1 Tim 6:12, 2 Tim 2:4, James 1:6). Don’t walk as a coward when God has called you to be royalty (1 Peter 2:9).

Thoughts in your mind that didn’t originate with you are imaginations that need to be cast down (2 Cor 10:5). The enemy is like an illusionist, he tries to get you to accept suggestions to make you take or keep strongholds in your body. Whether these words or imaginations come from doctors or the spiritual world (Prov 18:21), anything that is contrary to you are healed is not the truth (1 Pet 2:24). Any spirit of pain or opposing symptom is not the truth (John 8:32). If your body is under attack from the enemy, remember that satan can’t give you anything that you won’t receive (2 Cor 2:11). Let’s continue to walk in the Spirit (Gal 5:16, 25).

The enemy didn’t come to steal what you don’t have (John 10:10). A weapon is meant for influence (2 Cor. 10:4, Heb 4:12). The strongest one is from the mouth (James 3:5, 6). When the adversary used his mouth to other angels, he defiled his sanctuaries (Ez. 28:16, 18). He used his weapon against Eve in the garden (Gen 3:4) to take over and rule a spiritual palace on earth (Luke 11:21). Jesus, the powerful, almighty champion openly defeated the ‘strongman’, took the keys from death and gave gifts to men to gather the spoils (Luke 11:22, Col 2:
15, Eph 4:8, Rev 1:18). And now we have the choice to tolerate the idea of being defeated or continue the fight with Jesus (Luke 11:23). We have a choice to let out hearts harden or allow knowledge to multiply our life and peace (Mark 8:17, Heb 3:13, 15), to accept the temporary circumstances or claim our treasure and enter into His rest (Mark 6:52, Heb 4:5-11, 2 Pet 1:2).

•        The stronger man is in you (Col 1:27, 1 John 4:4). Do you believe?
•        You can raise the dead (Matt 10:8). Do you believe?
•        He made you more than any storm that can threaten you (Mark 4:40). Do you believe?
•        You will walk in the fire and not get burned (Ps 29:7, Is 43:2) Do you believe?

If you are not feeling fully confident, it is better to be silent than speak in wavering or doubt (Luke 1:20, Mark 11:24). Initially, meditate and recite the promises of God in your mind (1 Cor. 1:20). Pray your prayers in the Spirit to build confidence and edify yourself (1 Cor. 14:4, 39, Eph 6:18, Jude 1:20), until you know you are guaranteed of your faith (Jude 1:3).

Examples from the Word to speak in your mind, in tongues and then your natural language:

•        I fully expect my children to be saved (Acts 16:31, Jer. 31:16)
•        I fully expect my symptoms to leave (Is 53:4, 1 Pet 2:24)
•        I fully expect my body to be restored (Ps 23:3, Jer 30:17, Joel 2:25)
•        I fully expect to experience divine health (Ps 91:10, 103:3)
•        I fully expect divine favor (Eph 1:6, Prov 3:6-8)

When a man of power with his full array of weapons guards his own palace, everything inside is secure. But when a new man who is stronger and better armed attacks the palace, the old ruler will be overcome, his weapons and trusted defenses will be removed, and his treasures will be plundered.
